Power Recliner Care: Simple Habits That Prevent Repairs
Quick checks and cleaning tips that help your power recliner keep working smoothly.
You do not need special tools to look after a power recliner. A few minutes every so often can help you catch small problems before they become bigger ones.
Keep the frame clear
Unplug the chair, then remove anything caught underneath, such as coins, toys and blankets. Vacuum under the chair so that dust does not build up around the mechanism.
Check the cables
Look for any pinches or wear, and make sure plugs are secure. Replace damaged cables rather than taping them.
Tighten what is loose
Check for loose bolts on the frame and mechanism. If a bolt is missing or a part is bent, stop using that function until it is fixed.
Use it gently
- Avoid sitting on the footrest or the arms.
- Do not let children ride on moving parts.
- Do not hold a button down once the chair has stopped.
