How To Tell If Your Recliner Power Supply Has Failed

Simple signs that point to a bad transformer, and how to match the right replacement.

The power supply, also called a transformer, turns wall power into the low voltage your chair uses. When it fails, the whole chair usually stops.

Safe checks

Test the outlet first. Check the cable on both sides of the brick for damage. Never open a sealed power supply. If it smells burnt or looks damaged, unplug it and stop using it.

Match the replacement

Read the label on your old unit and note the output. Recliner supplies are often rated at 29V, with different amp ratings, so compare the volts, amps and plug. Do not guess, because the wrong output can damage your chair.

Browse our power supplies and batteries, or send a photo of your label to a parts specialist.
